Three bedrooms, three private bathrooms — closeness where you want it, retreat where you need it.
Grandparents sleep step-free on the ground floor, the children up beneath the eaves, the parents in between. The dining table for fourteen will carry aunts and uncles too. And the garden carries the small ones through the whole afternoon.

A fireplace, a baby grand, a lake at your doorstep.
The ground-floor bedroom has a step-free shower, and the armchair by the tiled stove a reader. The lake circuit is flat — 7.5 km, with several places to stop for refreshments. In the evening: the piano, a glass of Styrian wine, the silence.

Hofmannsthal himself came every summer. The house is built for long stays — kitchen for self-catering, washing machine, writing desk in the blue room. For returning guests we offer reduced rates from the second week.

A bottle of Styrian wine in the living room, fire in the tiled stove, the first snow outside. A walk around the lake without a word. The breakfast basket at the long table, or on the south balcony. In summer: the Dachstein mirrored on the lake, the high peaks still streaked with white.

In the heart of the Federal Forest game grounds. Arctic char and red deer at your door.
The Ausseerland is classic territory for red deer, chamois and roe; guest stalking through the Federal Forest service is possible. Day permits for char and whitefish are available on the lake. After the hunt: the fireplace and a Styrian red. A drying cabinet for mountain boots stands ready in the utility room.

We are fond of dogs. €30 per animal per night, and the hallway already has the carpet for it. Leashes are required around the lake to protect wildlife, but in the shallow bays of the eastern shore there is room to splash. At Lake Grundlsee in Gößl you'll find an official dog beach.

The house holds longer stays beautifully: washing machine, full kitchen, quiet location. For focused writing, retreats à deux, or a sabbatical. We'll happily share a peaceful lake-loop route for your lunch break.

Bring friends from the neighbourhood, from Vienna, Munich or Salzburg, for a dinner or a house concert. The dining table seats fourteen, the piano is in tune, the kitchen is up to it. We'll arrange catering or recommend takeaway from the village.
